You will probably have some of the following in your background to bring to the table. The vast majority of our work is with the top consumer products companies in food, beverage, drug, and beauty care manufacturing. We also work on positions in the wholesale/distribution and broker communities, as well as retail. We specialize in category and shelf/space management professionals, sales and account management professionals, and various marketing and related people.

Our clients are demanding. And so are we. Here are some key strengths we’ll be looking for in you;

A 4-year college degree. In some cases, if you are actively attending school and about to graduate in a couple of months, this requirement can be waived. Rarely, a college degree is not required. We strongly encourage you to finish your degree. And an MBA or related degree is not always a requirement, but is a definite advantage.

A minimum of 3 years direct account management responsibility, and/or category analysis experience within the consumer packaged goods industry, with a broker/wholesaler or manufacturer.

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Great presentation skills are usually required, as well.

Personal computer skills are always a plus, and for many opportunities they are required. At the very least, you should have some word-processing, spread sheet and e-mail or Internet experience. It is useful to have database software experience, as well as presentation software such as PowerPoint.

Category management skills vary from company to company and job grade level to level. In general, most positions demand a deep understanding of scan-data tools, geo-demographic tools, micro-marketing techniques, presentation/graphics and database management, in addition to the PC skills outlined above.
