Why use a recruiter? |
|
|
| Q. Where do I start? A. A good professional recruiter will conduct your search for career advancement with your personal goals and concerns in mind. Contacting Finders-Seekers® puts the wheels in motion immediately, with discretion as the password from the word go. Q. Why use a recruiter? A. To get the edge. A reputable recruiter has a long-term relationship with its client companies, and provides invaluable insight as a result. And a recruiter saves you time and energy by making sure that you are a good fit for a particular position. A good recruiter should provide resume and interview assistance as well. Q. Why use Finders-Seekers? A. For one thing, we can keep a secret. We provide the highest level of confidentiality, which allows us to conduct a discreet search for career advancement without exposing you to your current employer. With Finders-Seekers you will always know exactly where your resume is, and why. And you save time and energy because your resume is only submitted when we are sure that you are a good fit for a particular position. Selectivity is a trademark of Finders-Seekers, much appreciated by candidates and clients alike. We think youll find that the level of assistance you receive from us is superior to any recruiter guidance you may have experienced in the past. On your resume, you can expect your best qualities to shine. In your interview, you will feel fully prepared with added skills to productively meet with prospective employers. Not to mention the insights we will give you regarding the needs of our clients, as well as their hiring process. Last but certainly not least, Finders-Seekers is a valuable resource in salary and benefit negotiations, with years of career-pathing, compensation, and relocation wisdom to share. Q. What does a recruiter do exactly? A. Many companies have positions they cant or dont want to fill through the usual methods of advertising and networking. Professional recruiters are called in to help fill positions demanding special talents or experiences and training, to fill positions companies want to keep confidential, or simply because their own staffing departments are overworked. Recruiters find people who might not otherwise be looking for a new career opportunity. And sometimes candidates use us as part of their overall job search plan. Q. What does it cost? A. Nothing. A professional recruiter does not charge candidates for their services. All fees (including reasonable travel expenses for your interviews) are paid by our corporate clients. Finders-Seekers takes this a step further -- we also have a toll-free number. Q. How can I best use a recruiter? A. First, be honest. A recruiter functions as a "match-maker" between you and the client, and mutual trust between all parties is imperative. Second, make your relationship a true partnership. The more we know about each other, the better the chances of success. Make sure your recruiter knows about all your phone and in-person interviews, or any other contacts with prospective employers. If your recruiter cant, or wont, help you prepare for your interview, even a simple phone screening interview, find one who will. The goal for everyone involved is to fill a great career opportunity with the best possible candidate. Keep your recruiter up to date on your familys needs and wants, changes in your status at your present position, feedback on interviewing in progress -- if it affects you, it affects your job search. Q. How many recruiters should I work with? A. Only a few. Probably no more than three. And insist that they only send your resume to companies and opportunities you have specifically authorized. Why? Your integrity, and the integrity of your search firm, are at stake. Should a dynamic company receive two or three of your resumes from different sources, you may not get the interview at all. Rather than make the effort to decide how to approach you, the company will more than likely move on to other candidates. Q. Am I the recruiters only candidate for the opportunity? A. Probably not. Your recruiter will have several candidates to present for consideration, since most companies want to have a choice. Each of you will have different backgrounds and qualities -- which a good recruiter will be adept at highlighting throughout your interviewing process. Each of you is a star in your own right. Otherwise you would not have made it to our short list. Q. What if I dont make it? A. The mere fact that you have been submitted for consideration speaks volumes about your strengths and capabilities. The experience and qualities your recruiter recognized will almost certainly be considered for future opportunities. Indeed, a given company may feel that you are not a "fit" for the original position you applied for, yet have other opportunities to explore together. In any case, Finders-Seekers always tells you honestly what your status is and why. If there are areas in need of improvement, we will guide you and continue an effective search. |
